The Big Band

No important event or celebration is complete without The Tony Carpio Big Band. For over two decades, Hong Kong’s high society, local elites and celebrities are swinging to the enchanting sounds of Tony Carpio’s 18-piece Big Band as it graces the grand ballrooms of 5-star hotels such as the Grand Hyatt, The Peninsula Hotel, The Four Seasons, the Inter-Continental Hotel, Conrad International, Mandarin Oriental, the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel, to name a few….. Under the leadership of Tony Carpio, his Big Band is composed of top-notch musicians in Hong Kong and its wide-ranging repertoire includes the all-time hits of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, along with modern day hits ranging from Disco, Pop, Rock’n’Roll, Salsa, Motown, Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba, Tango, Slows and many more….

The band is highly versatile and the vocalists can sing in numerous languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Indian – Hindi, Spanish, etc.

The Big Band has also performed for many of Hong Kong’s prestigious events, including the Hong Kong Hand-Over in 1997, The American Chamber of Commerce, the CEO Ball, the Young Presidents Organization, Club of Excellence (QE II passengers), The Peninsula Hotel’s 70th and 75th Anniversaries, the launching of Dunhill XO in China and Taiwan, Louis Vuitton’s 100 Years Anniversary, Dickson Poon’s Concept 25th Anniversary, The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Invitation Cup, The Hong Kong Tourist Association, the Hong Kong Hotels Association, The Jardine’s Group Executive Ball, Concert in the Park 2007, Po Leung Kuk Fund Raising Ball, Pok Oi Charity Ball to name but a few....
